Getting Started with Mentor Coaching

If you're considering working with a private mentor coach, the following steps will guide you through the process of scheduling, assessing your needs, and selecting the right mentor coaching engagement. Additionally, we'll cover the International Coaching Federation (ICF) requirements for different credential levels to help you make an informed decision.

1. Schedule a Discovery Call to Determine Compatibility

The first step in the mentor coaching process is to ensure a strong connection between coach and mentee. During this discovery call, we will:

• Explore your current level of coaching experience and knowledge.

• Determine how I can best support your professional growth.

• Address any questions you have about the mentor coaching process.

2. Select the Mentor Coaching Engagement That Meets Your Needs

After the discovery call, we will work together to select the best mentor coaching engagement that aligns with your development goals and the credential level you're pursuing. We offer flexible coaching packages designed to help you meet ICF mentor coaching requirements and grow as a coach.

3. International Coaching Federation (ICF) Mentor Coaching Requirements If you decide to move forward, we will follow ICF’s mentor coaching requirements to ensure you’re on track for your desired credential level.

4. Complete an Online Self-Assessment (ICF Credential Specific)

To help you understand where you stand based on the ICF minimum standard requirements, we offer three self-assessment tools designed for each credential level. These assessments will help you gauge your readiness and areas for improvement.

5. Begin Your Mentor Coaching Journey

Once we’ve reviewed your self-assessment results and selected the appropriate coaching engagement, we can start your mentor coaching journey. We’ll schedule regular sessions that fit your availability, ensuring progress toward your ICF credential.

Important Information About Mentor Coaching:

• Session Length: All sessions are 90 minutes in length, providing a deeper and more comprehensive mentoring experience than standard 60-minute sessions.

• Commitment to Development: While ICF requires a minimum of 10 mentor coaching hours, these packages are designed to offer you more than just the minimum. They are intended to fully support your growth and help you gain the coaching skills you need, not just the hours required.

• Mentor Coaching and CCE Hours: Any mentor coaching hours not specifically required for ICF credentialing can be applied toward Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units, helping you meet your ongoing education requirements.
